エリザベス・ギルバート氏によるTEDスピーチ「創造性をはぐくむには」です。
The Greeks famously called these divine attendant spirits of creativity “daemons.” Socrates, famously, believed that he had a daemon who spoke wisdom to him from afar. The Romans had the same idea, but they called that sort of disembodied creative spirit a genius.

The Greeks famously called these divine attendant spirits of creativity “daemons.” Socrates, famously, believed that he had a daemon who spoke wisdom to him from afar. The Romans had the same idea, but they called that sort of disembodied creative spirit a genius.
で「ギリシャ人たちはご存じの通り、これらの人に憑く創造的な精霊のことを『ダイモン』と呼びました。ソクラテスはご存じの通り、自分にはダイモンが憑いていて遠くから知恵を授けてくれると信じていたのです。またローマ人も同じような考えを持っていましたが、彼らはその実体のない創造的な精霊をジーニアスと呼びました。」という意味になります。

The Greeks famously called ～ … で「有名なことですが、ギリシャ人たちは～を…と呼んだ」です。
famously は「有名なことだが、周知のとおり」という意味の副詞です。
何を何と呼んだかというと、
(called) these divine attendant spirits of creativity で「これらの創造性の守護霊のことを」
“daemons.”「ダイモン」と呼んだです。
divine attendant spirits は前回も出てきましたが「人に付き添う精霊」ですね。
日本で言えば「守護霊、守り神」、divine は「神の」という意味の形容詞です。
daemon ディーマンで「ダイモン、ダイモーン」です。ギリシャ神話上の「人間と神の中間の霊である半神半人」です。
日本語でデーモンというと「悪魔、鬼、悪霊」ですが、そちらは demon と書きます。
Socrates, famously, believed that ～ で「ソクラテスは有名なことですが、～だと強く信じていた」です。
he had a daemon who spoke wisdom to him from afar. で「彼はダイモンを持っていて、それが彼に知恵をつたえる、遠くから」です。
have a daemon で「ダイモンが憑いてる、守護霊がついている」です。
speak wisdom to ～ で「～に知恵をつたえる」となります。
from afar は「遠くから、遠方から」です。
afar ア[ファ]ーは「遠くに、遠方」という意味です。
The Romans had the same idea, but ～ で「ローマ人も同じ考えを持っていた、が～」です。
but they called ～ …「彼らは～を…と呼んでいた」です。
that sort of disembodied creative spirit「その肉体のない創造の精霊を」です。
that sort of ～ で「その～的なもの、そのある種～なもの」です。
disembodied ディ・スィン・[ボ]・ディドゥで「肉体を離れた、実体のない」です。
dis-（否定、離れて）＋ embody（具現化する、肉体を与える）です。
例：disembodied spirit「肉体から離れた霊魂、亡霊」、disembodied feeling「幽体離脱したような感覚」
a genius で「ジーニアスと（呼んだ）」です。
genius は「天才、天賦の才」という意味でおなじみですが、ここではローマ神話の守護霊「ジーニアス、ゲニウス」ということです。
それではまず文節に分けて日本語に訳し内容を理解して下さい。

これらの創造の守護霊を
“daemons.”
ダイモンと
Socrates, famously, believed that
周知のとおり。ソクラテスは～だと信じていたのです
