で「それは、モーターとコーヒー缶と、それをつなげるベルトが付いていました。彼は、私に一緒に来いと言いました。私たちはガレージの裏に出ました。そしていくつか石を拾いました。ただの古い不細工な石をです。」という意味になります。

it was a motor and a coffee can and a little band between them. で「それは、モーターとコーヒー缶、そしてそれらの間にベルトあった」です。
it とは前述の rock tumbler「回転式の石研磨機」のことを指しています。
coffee can は「コーヒー缶」です。
「缶コーヒー」の缶ではなくて、コーヒー豆の「缶詰」の空き缶ですね。
ちなみに「缶コーヒー」はもともと日本発祥で、ごく一般的なのは日本だけだけなんだそうです。
can の発音は、カンではなくキャンとなります。

And he said, come on with me. で「そして彼は言った、俺と一緒に来い、と」

We went out to the back. で「私たちはガレージの裏に出た」です。
the back とは「その裏」で、ガレージの裏ですね。

And we got some, just some rocks, で「そして私たちはいくつかの石を拾った」です。
some regular old ugly rocks. で「いくつかの普通の古くてみすぼらしい石」です。
regular は「いつもの、普通の、代り映えしない」といった意味になります。

それではまず文節に分けて日本語に訳し内容を理解して下さい。
