TED-Edより「What are those floaty things in your eye?（目の中に浮かんでいるものはなんだろう？）」です。

Floaters may be only barely distinguishable most of the time. They become more visible the closer they are to the retina, just as holding your hand closer to a table with an overhead light will result in a more sharply defined shadow.

で「大抵の場合フローターは辛うじて識別できるかできないかくらいのものです。それは網膜に近くなればなるほど、より見えやすくなります。ちょうど、上から光が当たっている時にテーブル近くに手を持っていくと、その影がより輪郭がはっきりするのと同じように。」という意味になります。

Floaters may be only barely distinguishable で「フローターはきっと何とか識別できるかできないかの状態でしょう」です。
(can) barely は副詞で「何とか～できる、辛うじて～する、できるかできないかくらい」という意味になります。
例：barely audible「（ほとんど聞き取れないけど）辛うじてなら聞き取れる」
同じような表現で hardly がありますが、
hardly は「ほとんど～ない」で「ない」に焦点が当たりますが、barely は「ある」に焦点が当たるとのことです。

most of the time は副詞句で「ほとんどの場合、たいていの場合」です。

They become more visible the closer they are to the retina で「フローターは網膜に近くなればなるほど、よく見えるようになる」です。
the more ～, the more … の文型です。

just as ～ で「ちょうど～するのと同じように」という意味の接続詞です。
holding your hand closer to a table with an overhead light が主語です。
「あなたの手をテーブルにどんどん近づけること、上からの光が（当たっている）状況で」です。
an overhead light で「（単光源の）頭上からの光、天井からのライト」です。
an が付いているので「ライトが一つ」ということです。
will result in ～ で「は、～ということになる」です。
result in ～ で「～と言う結果となる、～になる、～に終わる」という意味の言い回し。
in ～ の後には名詞が入ります。
a more sharply defined shadow. で「より輪郭がはっきりした影」です。
