these issues とは前回の文を指しています。
explore は「探検する、探索する」ですが、ここでは「研究する、調査する」です。
but「しかし」
so far「今のところ」

they have found that ～「神経科学者たちは～だということを発見した」です。
that節に入って
(that) the artistic and aesthetic aspects of learning to play a musical instrument までが主語になり、
「芸術的・美的な側面、～を習得することの、楽器演奏を」
それらは、are different from ～「で～と違っている、～とは異なる」です。
何と異なるのかというと、
any other activity studied, で「他のどんな活動とも、研究対象となった」です。
～ studied は後ろから修飾する珍しい形容詞で「研究対象となった」という意味になります。
including other arts. で「他の芸術も含めて」

それではまず文節に分けて日本語に訳し内容を理解して下さい。
