Ordinary people seem not to realize that those who really apply themselves in the right way to philosophy are directly and of their own accord preparing themselves for dying and death.
で「一般の人々は、哲学に正しいやり方で本気で取り組む人たちが、実は自らの意思によって、そして自然なかたちで、死や死にゆくことへの準備をしているということに、あまり気づいていないように思われる。」という意味になります。

Ordinary people で「ふつうの人々、一般の人々」です。
ordinary で「普通の、平凡な、よく目にする」という意味の形容詞。
seem not to realize that ～ で「～ということに気づいていないようだ」です。
seem to do ～ で「～するようである、～すると思われる」です。
seem not to ～ なので「～しないようである」となります。
realize that ～ で「～ということに気付く、～だと分かる」です。
that節に入って、
those who really apply themselves in the right way to philosophy までが主語で「哲学に正しいやり方で本気で取り組む人たち」となります。
those who ～「～する人々」
(who) really apply themselves to ～ で「～に本当に打ち込んでいる（人々）」です。
apply oneself to ～ で「～に専念する、～に打ち込む」という意味の言い回しです。
例：She applied herself to learning English.「彼女は英語学習に打ち込んだ。」
in the right way で「正しいやり方で」という意味の副詞句です。
apply themselves ～ to philosophy の中に副詞句 in the right way が挿入されている形です。
to philosophy で「哲学に（打ち込んでいる）」です。
are ～「（そういう人々は）～だ」
directly「直接的に、そのこと自体が」
and ～「また～」
of their own accord で「自発的に」という意味です。
これも of ～ から始まって紛らわしいですが
of one’s own accord で、ひとまとまりで定型の副詞句となっています。
(are) preparing themselves for ～ で「～のために準備している」です。
prepare oneself for ～ こちらも「～のために心の準備する、心構えをする、覚悟を決める」という意味の定型の言い回し。
(for) dying and death. で「死にゆくことや死（のために心の準備する）」

それではまず文節に分けて日本語に訳し内容を理解して下さい。
