I'm short sighted, and I spent an hour with my nose glued to the paper trying to figure out what was written on it. It was a ophthalmology exam. F*ck my life!」 just before going into a test I broke my glasses on the way to the exam room I'm short sighted 例:far sighted glasses「遠視用メガネ、老眼鏡」 and I spent an hour with ~ で「~しながら一時間過ごした、~な状態で一時間過ごした」という意味になります。 with my nose glued to the paper 例:glued to the screen「画面にくぎ付けになる」 trying to figure out what was written on it で「それに何が書いてあるかを分かろうとして」です。 例:figure out a way to win「勝ち方を見つけ出す」、figure out how to ~「~の方法が分かる、はじき出す」 ophthalmology exam で「眼科学のテスト」ですね。

I had no idea what I wanted to do with my life and no idea how college was going to help me figure it out. see the value in it 例:have no idea how to dance「どう踊ればいいのかわからない」 what I wanted to do with my life で「私は人生で何をしたいのか」という意味です。 how college was going to help me figure it out
