We have a usefully sized metallic bowl that comes out, amongst others, to accommodate the buffet food we put on for various family events. It also doubles up as the family sick bowl during our most vulnerable moments. I’ll always give the contents of that one a miss.
で「私たちの家には、ほどよい大きさの金属製のボウルが一つあって、家族の集まりでビュッフェ料理を並べるときなどによく登場する。ただしそれは同時に、家族が一番つらい瞬間に使う非常用の嘔吐ボウルを兼ねている。だから私はいつも、あのボウルに入っているものは食べないようにしている。」という意味になります。

We have a usefully sized metallic bowl で「家には便利なサイズの金属製ボウルがある」です。
usefully sized で「便利なサイズの」という意味。
that comes out to ～ で「（それは）～するのに出てくる」
, amongst others, で「とりわけ」です。「ほかにも用途はあるがその一つとして」という意味合い。
(to) accommodate the buffet food で「ビュッフェの食べ物を入れる（ために出てくる）」です。
come out はここでは「出てくる、登場する」
（食器棚・収納から）取り出されて使われる、といういニュアンスです。
accommodate ア[カ]モデイトゥは、ここでは「～を収容する、～を入れる（スペースがある）」です。
「（人を）宿泊させる」や「（需要などに）応える」という意味でもよく使われます。
例：The interior space easily accommodates five adults. 「（この車は）大人5人がゆったりとくつろげる室内空間がある。」
buffet は「ビュッフェ、バイキング形式の料理」で、バ[フェ]イという感じの発音になります。
(buffet food) we put on「私たちが置く／用意する（ビュッフェ）」
for various family events.「さまざまな家族イベントのために」

It also doubles up as ～ で「そのボウルはまた、～も兼ねている」です。
double up as ～ は「～としても二役を兼ねる」です。
(as) the family sick bowl で「家族の嘔吐用ボウル（としても）」
sick は「気分が悪い」という意味の形容詞ですが、イギリス英語では vomit の婉曲表現として「嘔吐する」という意味でもよく使われます。
例：I was sick last night.「ゆうべ吐きました。」
during our most vulnerable moments. で「私たち家族が最も弱っている時に」
during ～ moments で「～な時に」という意味のコロケーション。
vulnerable は「弱い、脆弱な、攻撃を受けやすい」

I’ll always give the contents of that one a miss. で「私はあれに入った中身は、いつもパスするようにしている。」です。
give ～ a miss で「～をやめておく、～を避ける、～に近づかない」という意味のコロケーション。
the contents of that one で「あれの中身」です。
that one は、あの金属ボウルのことです。
