Today, I was trying to take a cute selfie on a hiking trip. As I leaned against a boulder to get the perfect shot, a squirrel jumped out of nowhere and attacked me, probably thinking I was after its food. I dropped my phone into a creek, and my friends took a picture of me freaking out instead. FML
で「今日、ハイキング中に可愛い自撮りを撮ろうとして、完璧な映え写真を撮ろうと岩にもたれかかった瞬間、どこからともなくリスが飛び出してきて私を襲ってきた。たぶん、私がリスのエサを狙ってると思ったんだろう。その拍子にスマホを小川に落としちゃって、友達は私がパニックになってる写真を撮ってた。F*ck my life!」という意味になります。

I was trying to take a cute selfie で「私はかわいい自撮り写真を撮ろうとしていた」です。
take a picture で「写真を撮る」という意味のコロケーション。
selfie は「セルフ写真、自撮り写真」のことです。
on a hiking trip. で「ハイキング旅行で」です。

As ～「～している時」
I leaned against a boulder で「大きな岩に寄り掛かっていた（時）」
lean は「斜めになる、傾ぐ」です。lean against ～「～に寄り掛かる、もたれかかる」となります。
boulder は「大きな岩、巨礫」
ロッククライミングの一種のスポーツ競技であるボルダリング（bouldering）はここからきています。
to get the perfect shot, で「完璧なショットを得ようとして」
そうしていた時（As ～）、
a squirrel jumped out of nowhere で「リスがどこからともなく飛び出してきた」です。
squirrelで「リス」です。※発音はスクウィロォという感じになります。
out of nowhere で「どこからともなく」という意味の言い回し。
and attacked me,「そして私を襲ってきた」
, probably thinking (that) ～「たぶん（リスは）～と思って」です。
(that) I was after its food. で「私がリスの食べ物を取ろうとしてる（と思って）」です。
after ～ はここでは「～を得ようとして、～を欲しがって」という意味で使われています。
例：I think he’s after my job.「彼、私の仕事を狙っていると思う。」
its はリスのことを指しています。動物の場合は、it で受けます。

I dropped my phone into a creek, で「私はスマホを小川の中に落としてしまった」
, and ～「そして～」
my friends took a picture of me で「友達は私の写真を撮った」です。
(me) freaking out で「パニくっている（私）」です。
instead で「その代わりに」です。
かわいい写真ではなく（その代わりに）、という意味ですね。
