TED-Edより「先延ばし魔の頭の中はどうなっているか」です。

I thought that was the end of everything. But a week later I get a call, and it’s the school. And they say, “Is this Tim Urban?” And I say, “Yeah.” And they say, “We need to talk about your thesis.” And I say, “OK.” And they say, “It’s the best one we’ve ever seen.” That did not happen. It was a very, very bad thesis.

I thought that was the end of everything. But a week later I get a call, and it’s the school. And they say, “Is this Tim Urban?” And I say, “Yeah.” And they say, “We need to talk about your thesis.” And I say, “OK.” And they say, “It’s the best one we’ve ever seen.” That did not happen. It was a very, very bad thesis.
で「やっと全部片が付いたと思いました。でも1週間後に電話がかかってきたんです。学校からでした。そしてこう言うんです。『ティム・アーバンさんですか？』『はい』って答えると、『あなたの卒論のことで話があります』と。『わかりました』と言うと『これまで見た中でいちばん素晴らしい卒論でした』と言われて── ……いや、そんなことはありませんでした（笑）。実際は、ものすごくひどい卒論でした。」という意味になります。

I thought (that) ～「～だと思った」
that was the end of everything.「それが全ての終わりだと」です。
the end of everything で「全てが終わったこと、片付いたこと」です。

But a week later 「しかし、一週間後」
I get a call,「わたしは一本の電話を受けます。」
, and it’s the school.「そして、それは学校からでした。」

And they say, “Is this Tim Urban?” 「そして彼らは、ティム・アーバンさんですか？と言います」
And I say, “Yeah.”「私は、はい、と言います」

And they say, “We need to talk about your thesis.”「彼らは言います。あなたの論文についてお話しする必要があります。」
And I say, “OK.” 「そして私は、OK、と言います。」

And they say, “It’s the best one we’ve ever seen.”「彼らは、これまで見た中でいちばん素晴らしい卒論でした、と言います。」です。

ここで会場で笑いが起こってますのですぐにジョークだとわかりますね。

That did not happen.「そんなことは起こりませんでした。」
It was a very, very bad thesis.「本当にひどい論文でした。」です。

それではまず文節に分けて日本語に訳し内容を理解して下さい。

これで全部片が付いたと

でも一週間後

私は電話を受けます

and it’s the school.
学校からです

彼らは「ティム・アーバンさんですか？」と言います

実際は本当にひどい論文でした

今度は「頭の中で」一行ずつ日本語に訳しながら…
