で「義理の両親が泊まりに来る直前に、客間の2つの電気毛布のコントローラーを入れ替えておいた。義母が寒くなって自分のコントローラーの温度を上げたら、実際には義父の側が温かくなる。すると義父が暑くなって、自分のコントローラーの温度を下げる。こうして悪循環が発生。二人ともよく眠れなかった。してやったり。」という意味になります。

I swopped the controllers for ～ で「～のコントローラーを入れ替えた」です。
swop は swap のイギリス英語綴りで「～を入れ替える、交換する」です。
the controllers for the two electric blankets で「二つの電気毛布のコントローラー」です。
controller for ～ で「～のコントローラー」となります。
in the guest bedroom「客間の」です。
just before ～「～する直前に」
my parents-in-law visited. で「義理の両親がうちに来る（直前に）」です。
parents-in-law で「義理の両親、義両親」
配偶者の家族を ～-in-law で表せます。
例：brother-in-law「義理の兄弟」、mother-in-law「義母」

She got cold,「彼女（義母）が寒くなった」
turned up her controller,「（すると）彼女のコントローラーの温度を上げる」です。
turn up ～ で「～（の温度や音量など）を上げる」

his は所有代名詞で「彼のコントローラー」を指しています。

Vicious loop ensued.「悪循環が続いた。」です。
vicious loop で「悪のループ、邪悪なループ」です。vicious cycle「悪循環」という表現の派生表現ですね。
ensue エン[ス]ーで「～が続いて起きる、結果として起きる」です。
例：A fight ensued.「乱闘になった。」

They slept poorly.「彼らはよく眠れなかった。」
sleep poorly で「よく眠れない」という意味のコロケーション。

Victory is mine.「勝利は私のもの／私の勝ちだ」です。

それはまず文節に分けて日本語に訳し内容を理解して下さい。
