TED-Edより「Grit: The power of passion and perseverance（情熱と忍耐の力）」です。

The kinds of things you need to learn in seventh grade math, sure, they’re hard: ratios, decimals, the area of a parallelogram. But these concepts are not impossible, and I was firmly convinced that every one of my students could learn the material if they worked hard and long enough.

で「７年生（中学一年）の数学での必須科目は確かに難しいものです。割合、小数、平行四辺形の面積など。しかしこれらの概念を理解することは不可能ではありません。そして私が確信したことは、十分に時間をかけてしっかり学べば、生徒全員がこれらの科目を習得できるということです。」という意味になります。

The kinds of things で「（～な）ある種のこと」
(that) you need to learn で「学ぶ必要のある（こと）」です。
in seventh grade math, で「７年生の数学において」
, sure,「もちろん、確かに」
they’re hard で「それらは難しい」
コロン（:）で「例えば～」と例を挙げて、
ratios, decimals, the area of a parallelogram. で「割合、小数、平行四辺形の面積」です。
ratio は「比率、割合」
decimal で「小数」です。
例：decimal point「小数点」
the area of ～ で「～の面積」という意味になります。
ちなみに「～の体積」は？（答えは下の方で）
parallelogram パラ[レ]ログラムで「平行四辺形」です。
他によくある形を表す単語では、
square「正方形」
rectangle「長方形」
triangle「三角形」
right triangle「直角三角形」
isosceles triangle「二等辺三角形」
circle「円」
ellipse「楕円」
trapezoid トゥ[ラ]ピゾイドゥ「台形」
lozenge ロ[ゼ]ンジ「ひし形」

But ～「しかし～」
these concepts are not impossible, で「これらの概念は不可能ではない」です。
not impossible (to learn) が省略されています。
, and ～「また～」
I was firmly convinced that ～ で「私は～だと断固として確信していた」です。
be convinced で「～だと確信してる、～に違いないと思う」という意味の言い回しです。
firmly convinced なので「固く確信する、」です。
every one of my students で「私の受け持ちの生徒たちの誰もが」
could learn the material で「それらの題材を学ぶことができると」
ここでの material は「（まとまった）学習内容」という意味で不可算名詞になっています。
例：the training material for this job「この業務のための研修内容」
if they worked hard and long enough. で「彼らが十分にしっかりと長く取り組めば」です。

それではまず文節に分けて日本語に訳し内容を理解して下さい。
