J.K. Rowling のハーバード大学の卒業式でのスピーチ（2008年）です。

I might be tempted to envy people who can live that way, except that I do not think they have any fewer nightmares than I do. Choosing to live in narrow spaces leads to a form of mental agoraphobia, and that brings its own terrors. I think the wilfully unimaginative see more monsters. They are often more afraid.

で「そんな風に生きられる人々を私も、うらやましく思いそうになりますが、彼らは彼らなりに（私と同様に）悪夢を見ていると思うのです。自ら狭い場所を選んで生きることは一種の広場恐怖症につながります。そしてそれはそれ独自の恐怖をもたらすのです。意固地になって想像力を封印する人々は、より多くの怪物を見ることになります。しばしば彼らは私よりももっとビクビクしているのです。」という意味になります。

I might be tempted to envy people で「私は（～な）人々をうらやましがりたくなるかもしれない」
be tempted to do ～ で「～したくなる、～する気にさせられる」です。
tempt は「～を誘惑する、する気にさせる」という意味の動詞です。
どんな人々をかというと、
(people) who can live that way, で「そのように生きられる（人々）」です.
that way で「そんな風に」です。
in that way の in が省略されてた形です。（way の前の in は省略可能。）
, except that ～「～ということを除けば」です。
except で「～を除いて、～を別にすれば」という意味の前置詞。
I do not think (that) ～「私は～だとは思わない」
they have any fewer nightmares than I do. で「彼らが私よりも少ない悪夢を見ている（とは思わない）」です。
they は上記の people を指しています。

Choosing to live in narrow spaces が主語で「狭い場所で生きることを選ぶこと」です。
つまり想像力を使わないで暮らすことです。
leads to a form of mental agoraphobia, で「一種の精神的な広場恐怖症につながる」です。
lead to ～ で「～につながる、～に導かれる」です。
agoraphobia で「広場恐怖症、外出恐怖症」です。
agora [ア]ゴラはギリシャ語で「街の広場、集会場」です。
-phobia で「～恐怖症」という意味を作ります。
, and ～「そして～」
that brings its own terrors. で「それはそれ自体の恐怖をもたらす」です。

I think (that) ～「～だと思う」
the wilfully unimaginative see more monsters. で「意固地になって想像力を使わない人々は、より多くの怪物に出会う。」です。
the + 形容詞 で「～な人々」という意味が作れます。
the unimaginative なので「想像力のない人々」となり、そこに副詞 wilfully が入って「わざと想像力のない人」です。
They are often more afraid. で「彼らはしばしば普通よりもビクビクしている」です。

それではまず文節に分けて日本語に訳し内容を理解して下さい。

～な人たちをうらやましく思いたくなるかもしれない

そんな風に生きられる（人たちを）

～ということは除けば
