で「私たちは道を誤ってしまった。そして『強欲』と『過剰』を、行き過ぎた金融文化の二本柱にしてしまった。すっかり消費に没頭し、節度を軽視する社会になってしまった。」という意味になります。

We lost our way で「私たちは道に迷ってしまった、道を誤った」です。
and ～ 「そして～」
allowed greed and excess to become ～ で「強欲と過剰を～にさせてしまった」です。
allow ～ to do … で「～を…させてしまう（許す）」という意味のコロケーション。
greed and excess で「強欲と過剰」
excess は「やり過ぎ」とも言えます。
何にさせてしまったのかというと、
(to become) the twin pillars of ～ で「～の2本柱に（させてしまった）」です。
何の二本柱かというと、
(of) too much of the financial culture. で「行き過ぎた金融文化（の）」です。

We became a society ～ で「私たちは～な社会になってしまった」
(a society) utterly absorbed in consumption 「消費に完全に没頭した（社会）」
utterly absorbed in ～ で「完全に～に没頭した」という意味になります。
and ～ 「そして～」
(a society) dismissive of moderation. 「節度を軽視した（社会）」です。
dismissive は「軽視した、まじめに考えない、否定的な」という意味の形容詞。
dismissive of ～ で「～を軽視した、～に否定的な」という意味になります。
moderation モデレイションは「節度、控えめ」という意味の名詞。
先述の excess の対義語ですね。

それではまず文節に分けて日本語に訳し内容を理解して下さい。
