FML で「今日、おばあちゃんがまたおじいちゃんはどこ？と聞いてきた。私たちがおじいちゃんは6年前に亡くなったんだよと言っても彼女は信じようとしない。おじいちゃんが浮気をしに出かけていると言い張っている。そしてそれを私たちが嘘を言ってかばっていると責める。*ck my life!」という意味になります。 yet again は「またまた、さらにまた」という意味の副詞句です。 again を yet が強調する形です。二度目ではなく、それ以上それが起こっている場合に使います。 asked where my grandfather is. で「おじいちゃんはどこにいるかを訪ねた」です。 where 以降は関係代名詞節です。 ask の後に、where や when, what, how などで始まる関係代名詞節が続く言い回しはとてもよく登場しますね。 She refuses to believe us で「彼女は私たちを信用することを拒む」です。 when we tell her that he passed away 6 years ago で「私たちが彼は6年前に死んだことを彼女に伝える時」です。 pass away は「逝去する、亡くなる、死ぬ」という意味です。 die ダイ「死ぬ」よりもちょっと遠回しな言い方です。日本語で言えば「亡くなる、他界する」という意味合いですね。 例：He passed away just days ago.「彼はつい先日お亡くなりになりました。」 he's out cheating on her で「彼は浮気をしに出かけている」という意味になります。 先週に続き、cheat が出てきました。 cheat は名詞では「浮気、ずる、裏切り、いんちき」という意味です。 cheat on ～ で「～を裏切って浮気する」という意味になります。 例：cheat on one's wife for a young woman「妻を裏切って若い女性と浮気する」、cheater「浮気者」 accuses us of lying で「私たちが嘘を言っていると責める」という意味です。 lying は lie「うそ」の現在分詞です。 例：accuse someone of cheating「不正行為をしたとして人を非難する」 cover his arse で「彼の嘘をかばう」という意味です。 arse アースは アメリカ英語では ass とも書いて「尻の穴」です。 cover his ass とも言えます。
