The nature of the human mind is such that unless it is stimulated by images of things acting upon it from without, all remembrance of them passes easily away.
で「人間の心の性質というものは、影響を与える物の視覚情報によって外部から刺激されないと、それらの記憶はすべて簡単に消えてしまう、というものだ。」という意味になります。

節のとり方が難しいので詳しく見ていきましょう。

The nature of the human mind で「人の心の性質」となります。
nature は「自然」という意味以外にも「性質」という意味があります。

such that ～ は that節に such が付いた形で「～というようなもの」となります。

unless ～ で「～しない限り、～しなければ」という意味の接続詞です。
unless it is stimulated by images of things acting upon it from without までが unless の節です。
it is stimulated by ～ で「それが～によって刺激され（なければ）」です。
it は the human mind を指しています。
stimulate は「刺激する、興奮させる」という意味の動詞です。
何によって刺激されるかというと、
(by) images of things acting upon it で「物のイメージ、それに影響を与えている（物の）」です。
images of things で「物のイメージ」です。
image は「視覚情報、映像、像、画像」または「心象」という意味です。
acting upon it で「それに影響を与えている」という意味です。
act upon ～ で「～に影響を及ぼす」という意味になります。
act on とも言えます。
例：acted upon by bacteria「バクテリアに影響を受けて」
it はまた the human mind を指しているので「人の心に影響を及ぼしている物のイメージ」という事になります。
from without で「外部から、外側から」という意味の言い回しです。
from outside とも言えます。
逆は from within「内部から、内側から」と言います。

そうしないと、
all remembrance of them passes easily away. で「すべてそれらの記憶は簡単に消え去ってしまう」です。
remembrance リ[メ]ンブランスで「記憶、思い出、かたみの品」です。
例：have no remembrance of ～「～を全く記憶していない」
pass easily away で「簡単に消え去る」です。
pass away は「死ぬ、逝去する」という意味でもおなじみですが、この場合は「消え去る、なくなる」という意味です。

それではまず文節に分けて日本語に訳し内容を理解して下さい。

～というようなものだ

unless
～しない限り

～によって刺激され（ない限り）
