We need to take our best ideas, our strongest intuitions, and we need to test them. We need to measure whether we’ve been successful, and we have to be willing to fail, to be wrong, to start over again with lessons learned. In other words, we need to be gritty about getting our kids grittier. Thank you.

We need to take our best ideas, our strongest intuitions, で「私たちは自分たちの最良のアイデアと、最も強い直感を取り上げる必要がある」です。
and ～「そして～」
we need to test them. で「それらを試してみる必要がある」です。
them は our best ideas, our strongest intuitions を指しています。
take ～ and test it で「～を取り上げてそれを試す」という意味のコロケーションです。

We need to measure whether ～ で「～かどうか評価する必要がある」です。
measure ～ で「（品質などを）評価する、査定する」です。
(whether) we’ve been successful, で「今までのところ成功している（かどうか）」です。
, and ～「そして～」
we have to be willing to fail,「進んで失敗しなければならない」です。
be willing to do ～ で「～することもいとわない、すすんで～する、～してもかまわない」という意味の言い回しです。
例：willing to die for ～「～のためなら死んでもかまわない」
(willing) to be wrong,「間違っても（構わない）」
, to start over again「また一から始めても（構わない）」
with lessons learned. で「すでに学んだ教訓をもって」

In other words,「他の言葉でいえば、つまりは」
we need to be gritty about ～ で「私たちは～について粘り強くなければならない」です。
gritty は grit の形容詞形で「粘り強い、気骨のある」です。
(about) getting our kids grittier. で「子供たちをより粘り強くさせること（について）」です。
get ～ … で「～を…にさせる」という意味の言い回し。
例：get me interested in ～「～に興味を持たせる」

それではまず文節に分けて日本語に訳し内容を理解して下さい。

私たちは～を取り上げて

our best ideas,
最善のアイデア

our strongest intuitions,
最も強い直感を

and we need to test them.
そしてそれらを試してみる必要があります

言い替えれば
