In this short lesson, we’ve explored where civic power comes from, how it works and what you can do to exercise it. One big question remaining is the “why” of power. Do you want power to benefit everyone or only you?
で「この短いレッスンでは、市民社会における権力がどこから来るのか、その仕組み、そしてそれを行使するために自分ができることについて見てきました。残された大きな問いは、『なぜ』権力を求めるのかということです。あなたはその権力をみんなのために使いたいですか、それとも自分だけのために使いたいですか？」という意味になります。

In this short lesson,「今回の短いレッスンの中では」
we’ve explored ～ で「～を探索してきました」です。
explore ～ はここでは「～を探索する、詳しく見る」です。
where civic power comes from, で「市民社会の権力がどこから来るかを」
how it works「それがどのように機能するかを」
it は civic power を指しています。
and ～ 「また～」
what you can do 「あなたには何ができるかを」
to exercise it.「それを行使するためには」です。
exercise は「運動する」という意味もありますがここでは他動詞で「～を行使する」です。

One big question remaining is ～ で「残っている大きな課題のひとつは～だ」
the “why” of power. で「権力の『なぜ』」です。
why はここでは疑問詞ではなく名詞として「なぜ、どうして」です。
つまり、権力がなぜ必要なのか、「権力の使い道」ということですね。

Do you want power to benefit everyone or only you?「あなたは権力をみんなに貢献させたい？または自分だけに？」です。
want ～ to do … の形で「～に…して欲しい」という意味になります。
benefit ～ で「～のためになる、～に利益をもたらす」です。

それではまず文節に分けて日本語に訳し内容を理解して下さい。
