you have to understand that ～「みなさんは～ということを理解しなければなりません」
I have a bachelor’s and a master’s in social work,「私は社会福祉学（ソーシャルワーク）の学士号と修士号をもっていて」
and I was getting my Ph.D.「そして（その当時）私は博士号を取得しようとしていた（ということ）」です。
social work とは、生活上の困りごとや障害を抱える人が、自分らしい生活を取り戻せるように支える、実践的な専門職および学問。
制度や環境面から問題の解決や調整を行います。
, so ～「ですので～」
my entire academic career was surrounded by ～「私の学者としての全キャリアは～に取り囲まれていた」です。
entire は「全体の～、最初から最後までの」という意味の形容詞。
academic career は「学者としてのキャリア、研究生活」です。
surrounded by people who ～「～するような人々に囲まれていた」です。
どんな人々かというと、
who kind of believed in ～ で「ある意味で～を信じる（人々）」です。
kind of は「ある意味で、なんとなく、どちらかというと」という濁し表現の副詞。
the “life’s messy, love it.” で「人生は乱雑だからそれを受け入れて愛そう（という主義）」です。
つまり、人生は乱雑なんだから、整理整頓するのはあきらめて、そのまま受け入れよう、ということですね。
messy は「散らかった、乱雑な、ごみごみした」という意味の形容詞。
例：His room is always messy.「彼の部屋いつも散らかっている。」
対義語（antonym）は organized「整理整頓された」です。
And ～「そして、でも～」
I’m more of ～ で「私は（どちらかというと）もっと～な主義の人です」
the, “life’s messy, clean it up, organize it and put it into a bento box.” で「人生は乱雑だから、キレイに整理整頓して、弁当箱のように分類整理しよう（という主義）」です。
more of ～ で「どちらかというと～だ」という意味の言い回しです。
例：He is more of a businessman than a musician.「彼はミュージシャンというよりビジネスマンだ。」
それではまず文節に分けて日本語に訳し内容を理解して下さい。
