で「アップルはこのHomePodを先月のクリスマス休暇の買い物シーズンに発売するつもりであったが、製品をより改善するためにそのデビューを遅らせた。」という意味になります。

had intended to ～ で「～するつもりだった」という意味の言い回しです。
had は過去完了形ですね。

release the HomePod で「HomePodをリリースする、発表する、発売する」です。
HomePod はアップルが新しく出す今流行りの家庭用のスマートスピーカーです。

last month は「先月」ですね。
during the holiday shopping season なので「クリスマス休暇の買い物シーズン中に」となります。

but delayed its debut to refine the product で「しかしそのデビューを遅らせた、その製品をより良くするために」となります。
refine a product で「製品を改善する」となります。
refine は「洗練する、精製する、磨きをかける」という意味の動詞です。
例：refined gold「純金」
