Yet, just like most treasures, awamori is yet to be discovered. で「しかしながら、多くのお宝がそうであるように、泡盛はいまだ発見されていない」となります。
最初の yet は「しかしながら、だが」という逆説の意味の接続詞です。
just like most treasures で「多くのお宝と同じように」です。
just like most ～ で「ほとんどの～がそうであるように」という意味の言い回しになります。
awamori is yet to be discovered で「泡盛はいまだ発見されていない」です。
yet to be ～ で「いまだに～されていない」という意味です。
例：yet to be announce「未発表の、まだ公表されていない」
yet to be discovered は「未発見の、まだ詳しくは分かっていない」という意味の慣用句となります。
discover は「～を発見する、見出す、発掘する、～の良さが分かる」という意味があります。
外国人にとって泡盛はまだまだ分からないところが多いということですね。

distilled liquor で「蒸留酒」となります。
蒸留酒（distilled）は、ウイスキーや焼酎など。

root は名詞では「根」です。動詞では「根づく、根付かせる」です。
very few drinks ～ 以降は、直前の culuture を目的語にとって修飾するための関係代名詞節となります。
culture very few drinks in the world can pride themselves with なので「その誇れる（文化）を持つ飲み物は、世界中でもほとんど存在しない」ということですね。
very few drinks で「そんな飲み物はほとんどない」という意味です。

それではまず文節に分けて日本語に訳し内容を理解して下さい。
