If I don’t think about anything, and start with a clean slate, in terms of what I have to do, a lot of different ideas come up, and I can think about things more openly.

If I don’t think about anything, and start with a clean slate, in terms of what I have to do, a lot of different ideas come up, and I can think about things more openly.
で「頭を真っ白にして、白紙から始めれば、やらなければならないことに関して、様々なアイデアがわいてきて、もっと素直に物事を考えられるようになる。」という意味になります。

If I don’t think about anything, and start with a clean slate, で「何についても考えずに、白紙から始めれば」です。
do not think about anything なので「何についても考えない、頭を真っ白にする」です。
start with a clean slate で「白紙から始める、初心に帰る、一からやり直す」という意味の決まり文句です。
slate は「文字を書くための石板」です。
屋根の瓦としても使われますが、文字を書くためにもよく用いられました。
clean slate なので「きれいに拭いた石板」となり、「白紙、真っ白な状態」という意味合いになります。
start with a blank sheet とも言えます。
※ちなみに slate は黒い石です。

in terms of what I have to do で「やらなければならないことに関して」です。
in terms of ～ で「～に関して」です。

そうすると、
a lot of different ideas come up で「たくさんの様々な考えがわいてくる」です。
ideas come up で「アイデアがわく、考えが出てくる」という意味の言い回しです。
例：come up with ideas「アイデアを思いつく」

and I can think about things more openly. で「そしてより素直に物事を考えられる」です。
openly は「素直に、率直に、あけっぴろげに、手放しに、堂々と」という意味の副詞です。
例：openly express one’s objection「堂々と異議を唱える」

それではまず文節に分けて日本語に訳し内容を理解して下さい。

何も考えずに

白紙の状態に戻せば

in terms of what I have to do,
やらなければいけないことに関して

a lot of different ideas come up,
さまざまな違った考えが湧いてきて

and I can think about things
