It’s what they believed about America that got them to travel in a bus for eight hours to stand in the sun in Washington in the middle of August. It’s what they believed, and it wasn’t about black versus white: 25% of the audience was white.

It’s what they believed about America that got them to travel in a bus for eight hours to stand in the sun in Washington in the middle of August. It’s what they believed, and it wasn’t about black versus white: 25% of the audience was white.
で「それこそが彼らがアメリカについて信じたものなのです。それは彼らを8時間もバスに乗って移動させ、8月のワシントンの炎天下に立たせたのです。それこそが彼らが信じたことなのです。そしてそれは黒人vs白人ということではありません。なぜなら聴衆の２５％は白人だったからです。」という意味になります。

It’s what they believed about America で「それこそが彼らがアメリカについて信じたことなのだ」です。
It’s what ～ で「それが～ということだ」という意味の言い回しです。
what they believed で「彼らが信じたこと」です。
they とはキング牧師の演説を聞きに来た２５万人の人々のことです。

(that) got them to travel in a bus for eight hours は「（そのことは）彼らをバスに乗って移動させた、８時間も」です。
get ～ to … で「～に…させる」です。
got them to travel なので「彼らを移動させた」となります。
travel in a bus で「バスで移動する」です。
普通 travel on a bus となりますが、travel in a bus となると「バスの中に押し込められて」というイメージができますね。

to stand in the sun in Washington in the middle of August で「ワシントンで太陽の中に立つために、８月の真っただ中に」です。
stand in the sun は「太陽の中に立つ」ですが、この場合は「（屋外に）炎天下の中で立つ」ということです。

and it wasn’t about black versus white で「そしてそれは黒人vs白人ということではなかった」です.
be about ～ は「～とは～というものだ」です。
例：Love is about giving.「愛とは与えるということだ。」

: 25% of the audience was white. で「（なぜなら）聴衆の２５％が白人だったから」です。

それではまず文節に分けて日本語に訳し内容を理解して下さい。

それが彼らがアメリカについて信じたことなのです

that got them to travel in a bus for eight hours
（それは）彼らを８時間もバスに押し込められて移動させた

to stand in the sun in Washington in the middle of August.
