で「そしてその後、アップル社はiPhoneを発売しました。それと一緒に、iPhoneソフトウェア開発キットも出しました。そしてその開発キットとは iPhone app を制作・プログラミングするためのツール一式です。」という意味になります。

And then Apple released the iPhone1, で「そしてその後で、アップルはiPhoneをリリースしました」です。
release は商品やサービスを「発売する・発表する」という意味で使われる動詞です。
同じような意味で launch もよく使われますね。
release の方は元々「解放する」という意味合いで、launch は「発射する、矢など打ち放つ」というイメージです。

and with it, the iPhone software development kit, で「そしてそれと一緒に、iPhoneソフトウェア開発キットも（発表した）」です。
with it の it は iPhoneのことですね。
software development kit とは基本無料で誰でも使える「ソフトウェア開発キット」です。
iPhone用にプログラミングするときに必要なコンポーネントなどを備えています。

and the software development kit is a suite of tools for ～ で「そして、そのソフトウェア開発キットは、～のためのツール一式です」です。
そのソフトウェア開発キットが何なのかを説明しています。
a suite of tools で「ツール一式」です。
suite スィートゥはホテルの高級な特別室 Suite room（和製英語）でおなじみですが、元の意味は「一式の、一そろいの、一連の」という意味です。
ですのでスィートルームとは、２～３部屋がつながった部屋という意味なのです。
そして英語圏では、単に suite または hotel suite と言います。
例：reserve a suite「スイートルームを予約する」

a suite of tools for creating and programming an iPhone app. なので「iPhone appを制作・プログラミングするためのツール一式」という意味になります。

それではまず文節に分けて日本語に訳し内容を理解して下さい。
