I’d like to close with a quote from Mark Twain. More than a century ago, he was looking back on his life, and he wrote this: “There isn’t time, so brief is life, for bickerings, apologies, heartburnings, callings to account. There is only time for loving, and but an instant, so to speak, for that.” The good life is built with good relationships. Thank you.

I’d like to close with a quote from Mark Twain で「～したいと思います、マークトゥウェインの引用句で締めたいと」です。
I’d like to ～ は I would like to ～ の略で「～したいと思います。」という意味です。
I want to ～ の丁寧な表現です。
close with ～ で「～でスピーチを締める」です。
quote クオウトゥは「引用句、格言」です。
quote from ～ で「～からの引用句」となります。
Mark Twain はアメリカ文学史上で最も有名な小説家の一人ですね。
「トムソーヤーの冒険」を書いた人です。
1835年生まれなので、日本で言えば幕末から明治期の作家となります。

More than a century ago, he was looking back on his life, で「100年以上前に、彼は人生を振り返っていた」です。
and he wrote this:「そしてこのように書いた」

“There isn’t time for bickerings, apologies, heartburnings, callings to account. で「諍いや弁明、嫉妬、叱責のための時間はない」です。
bickerings と動名詞が複数形の -s がついています。
動詞形 bicker [ビ]カーは「言い争う」です。
例：bicker with one’s colleague「同僚と口論する」
apology は「謝罪、弁明」です。
heartburning は「ねたみ、嫉妬」という意味です。
heartburn は身体的な意味で「胸やけ、胸のむかつき」となる場合もあります。
call to account で「叱責する、問責する」です。
account は「説明、弁明」という意味があるので「説明を求めて叱責する」という意味合いです。

so brief is life, は挿入的に、「人生はとても短いから」です。
life is so brief が倒置された形で、so ～ that … の形が元にあると考えるとしっくりきますね。
Life is so brief that there isn’t ～.

There is only time for loving, で「愛するための時間しかない」です。
bickerings, apologies, heartburnings, callings to account が複数形なのに対して、こちらの動名詞 loving は複数形になってないですね。

and but an instant, so to speak, for that.” で「そして、ほんの一瞬、と言ってもいいだろう、愛するためには」です。
この but は接続詞ではなく、only, just と同じ「ほんの、たったの」という意味の副詞です。
just an instant, just a second などと言い換えるとピンときますね。
例：last but a few minutes「ほんの数分だけ続く」、my but a word「私のたった一言が」
so to speak は「いわば、言ってみれば、～と言ってもいい」です。
an instant は「一瞬」です。
for that の that は loving を指しています。
つまり、愛するため（for loving）にあると考えたら life「人生」は、一瞬と思えるくらい短く感じるものだ、ということです。

それではまず文節に分けて日本語に訳し内容を理解して下さい。
