で「そのフライトはAxiom Space社によって企画主催されたものである。アメリカに本社を置く同社は、NASAが国際宇宙ステーション（ISS）を商用利用に開放していく中で、ISSに商用棟を増築するために、2020年にNASAによって選出された。」という意味になります。

The flight has been organized by Axiom Space Inc., で「そのフライトはAxiom Space社によって企画主催されている」です。
the flight とは記事内で前述された、乗組員全員が民間人（all-private）の国際宇宙ステーションへの飛行のことです。
be organized で「～によって主催される」という意味の言い回しです。
例：a symposium organized by the Japan Pen Club「日本ペンクラブ主催のシンポジウム」

Axiom Space Inc., a U.S. company (that) ～ で「Axiom Space社、（～する）アメリカの会社」です。
(,) で区切って【同格】を表しています。

どんな会社かというと、
(that) was selected by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration in 2020 で「2020年にNASAによって選ばれた（会社）」です。
the National Aeronautics and Space Administration は長いですが「航空宇宙局」で、略称はNASAです。
何をするために選ばれたのかというと、
to build a commercial wing to the ISS で「商用ウィングをISSに増築するために」です。
a commercial wing で「商用ウィング、商用棟」という意味になります。
wing は「（ビル群や建物などの）ウイング、棟」です。
例：guestroom wing of the hotel「ホテルの客室棟」、recovery wing「リハビリ病棟」
また build ～ to … で「～を…に増築する」という意味の言い回しになります。
例：build an annex to the main house「母屋につなげて別館を増築する」

as ～ は「～する中、～しながら、～する状況の中」という意味の接続詞。
the space agency opens the orbiting laboratory for commercial use. で「その宇宙局（NASA）が、その軌道を周る研究施設（ISS）を、商用利用可能にする（中で）」です。
the space agency はここではNASAの言い換え表現（パラフレーズ）です。
同様に the orbiting laboratory も「ISS（国際宇宙ステーション）」の言い換え表現です。
このように the ＋ ぼんやりした表現 で、何のことを言っているかよくわからない場合は、前述されている何かの言い換え表現ではないかと疑ってみるといいかもしれませんね。
open ～ for … で「～を…のために開放する」です。
