で「『もちろん結婚したいさ。』 益陽（Yiyang）のトラック運転手フーは言う。36歳になるフーの、老齢の両親も彼に結婚して欲しいと切実だ。『だけど女性がほとんどいないですよ。』 彼はため息をつく。彼の周りの適齢期の女性たちはすでに相手がいるか、都会に働きに出てしまっている。そしてフーのこの窮状は決して珍しいことではない。」という意味になります。

“Of course I want to get married,”「もちろん、私は結婚したい」です。
says Fu,「フー氏は言う」
, a lorry driver in Yiyang. で「益陽（Yiyang）のトラック運転手」です。

The 36-year-old’s ageing parents で「その36歳のフーさんの年老いた両親」です。
the 36-year-old は Fu をパラフレーズした表現で「その36歳（のフー氏）」です。
are anxious for him to tie the knot. で「彼に結婚して欲しいと切望している。」です。
anxious アンクシャスは「心配して」という意味もありますが、ここでは「切望して、強く望んで」という意味です。
be anxious to do ～ で「～したいと強く望む」です。
ここでは to do の意味上の主語 for him が入って「彼に～して欲しい」です。

“But there are few women,”「しかし女性がほとんどいない」です。
aが付かない場合は few は否定の意味で「ほとんどいない」となります。
he sighs.「（そう言って）彼はため息をつく」

The eligible girls around him are all spoken for で「彼の周りの女性たちは全て先約がある」です。
eligible で「資格のある、法的に適確な、結婚相手としてふさわしい」という意味の形容詞です。
例：eligible bachelor「（結婚相手として）格好の独身男性」
be spoken for で「お声がかかっている、すでに売約済みの」という意味のコロケーションです。

others have left to work in cities. で「その他の女性は、都会に仕事をしに出て行ってしまった」です。
leave to do ～ で「～をしに出ていく」です。

And Fu’s plight is not uncommon. で「フー氏の苦境は珍しくない。」です。
plight プライトゥで「苦境、窮状」という意味の名詞。
例：plight of workers「労働者の窮状」
not uncommon で「珍しくない、ありふれている」です。
二重否定（not と un-）で common と同じ意味になっています。

それではまず文節に分けて日本語に訳し内容を理解して下さい。
