で「友情の素晴らしさとは、差し伸べられた手でも、優しい微笑みでも、共に過ごす喜びでもない。誰かが自分を信じ、友情を託せる相手として自分を信頼してくれていると知ったときに心に生まれる、精神的な励ましこそが、友情の真の素晴らしさなのである。」という意味になります。
The glory of friendship で「友情のすばらしさ」です。
glory は「栄光、誇り、称賛」という意味の名詞。
is not the outstretched hand, で「差し伸べられた手ではない」です。
outstretch ～ は「～を差し伸べる、～を伸ばす」です。
not the kindly smile,「やさしい微笑みでもない」
ここでの kindly は副詞ではなく形容詞で、やや古風な「親切な、優しい」です。
nor the joy of companionship;「さらには、共に過ごす喜びでもない」です。
companionship は「一緒にいること、交わり、交際」
そうではなく、
it is ～「それは～」
the spiritual inspiration「精神的な励ましだ」です。
spiritual は「精神的な、霊的な」という意味の形容詞。
日本語のスピリチュアルには、占い・霊・ヒーリングなどオカルト寄りのイメージがついていますが、
英語では必ずしもそうではなく「精神的な、内面的な、魂の、宗教的な」という意味合いです。
今回の spiritual inspiration もオカルト的な意味ではなく「心の奥に働きかける励まし」という意味合いです。
that comes to one「人にやってくる、人に訪れる（励まし）」です。
one はここでは一般人称で「人」です。
when you discover that ～「～であると知るときに」
someone else believes in you「他の誰かがあなたを信じてる（と）」
is willing to ～「～してもよいと思っている」
trust you with a friendship.「あなたを信頼して友情を託す」です。
trust ～ with … で「信頼して～に…を託す」です。
例：I trusted him with my car.「彼を信頼して車を貸した。」
それではまず文節に分けて日本語に訳し内容を理解して下さい。
