the mosquito infestation で「蚊の大量発生,蚊がはびこること」です。
infestation は初めて見た単語です。
意味は「まん延、はびこること」です。
動詞形は、infest インフェストゥで「～に群がる、出没する、はびこる」です。
例：crime-infested area「犯罪が大量発生している地域」、rat-infested house「ネズミだらけの家」

is so bad that ～ で「あまりにもひどくて～だ」という意味の言い回しです。

multiple mosquitoes で「何匹もの蚊」です。
multiple は「多重の、多数の、多発性の」という意味の形容詞です。

sucked the blood out of the steak で「ステーキから血を吸った」です。
suck サックは「吸う、チューチュー吸う」という意味の動詞です。

promptly died on top of it で「即座にその上で死んだ」です。
promptly は「即座に、すぐに」という意味の副詞です。
on top of ～ は「～の上に、～の上部で」という意味の言い回しです。

それではまず文節に分けて日本語に訳し内容を理解して下さい。
