Penultimate, the sixth of the seven, embroidery, exaggeration. It demeans our language, actually, sometimes. For example, if I see something that really is awesome, what do I call it?
で「最後から二番目、七個のうち六個目は、脚色・誇張です。言葉の品位を落とします。時に本当に。例えば(いつもすごいすごいと連発していたら)もし本当に素晴らしいものを見たとき、私たちは何といえばいいのでしょう?」という意味になります。

前回に続いて「話者の7つの大罪」をリストアップしていきます。
第六の「脚色(embroidery)」です。

penultimate ペ[ナ]ルティミトゥは「最後から二番目の」という意味の形容詞です。
例:penultimate chapter of a book「本の最後から二番目の章」
final の一個前といういことですね。

embroidery, exaggeration で「脚色、誇張」です。
embroidery は「刺しゅう」という意味がありますが、
そこから「話を面白くする,脚色すること」という意味になります。
例:embroidery needle「刺しゅう針」
exaggeration は「誇張、大げさに言うこと」です。
動詞形は exaggerate イグ[ザ]ジャレイトゥで「誇張する、大げさにいう」です。
例:The article was an exaggeration.「あの記事は大げさだ」

It demeans our language で「言葉の格を落とす」です。
demean ディミーンは「品位を落とす」という意味の動詞です。
例:in a demeaning way「屈辱的なやり方で」
この場合のlanguage は「言語」というより、単純に「ことば」という意味です。

For example, if I see something that really is awesome, what do I call it?
「例えば、本当にスゴイ(awesome な)ものを見たとき、それを何て呼べばいいのでしょう?」です。
なんにでも awesome と言いすぎる最近の風潮を皮肉っているわけですね。

それではまず文節に分けて日本語に訳し内容を理解して下さい。
