で「地獄に落ちていくのは簡単なことだ。夜も昼も、暗い死の門は広く開け放たれている。しかしまた登ること、上層までの階段を引き返すこと、それが難しく、一仕事なのだ。」という意味になります。

It is easy to go down into Hell で「地獄に降りていくのは簡単だ」です。
宗教的な本当の意味で「地獄」という場合は大文字で Hell と書きます。

the gates of dark Death で「暗い死の門」です。
stand wide で「広く開いている」です。
stand は「立つ」ですが、この場合は「ある場所に動かないである」という意味合いです。
例：stand empty「空っぽである」

but to climb back again, to retrace one’s steps to the upper air で「しかしまた登ること、上層までの階段を引き返すこと」です。
climb back で「引き返して登る」です。
climb はクライムと最後のb は発音しないので注意しましょう。
retrace one’s steps で「その人の道を引き返す」です。
step は「一歩、あゆみ、足跡」という意味です。
retrace は「道などを引き返す」という意味です。
re-（再び）＋ trace（たどる）です。

there’s the rub は慣用句で「それが難しいところのだ」という意味になります。
rub は「こする、擦る」という意味ですが、「摩擦、困難」という意味にもなります。
例：Here is the rub.「ここが難しいところである」

それではまず文節に分けて日本語に訳し内容を理解して下さい。

地獄に落ちていくのは簡単だ

night and day,
昼も夜も

the gates of dark Death
暗い死の門は

stand wide;
広く開いている

but
しかし
