A peace agreement with North Korea would go far toward easing the impoverished nation’s chronic food security woes, the head of the United Nations’ World Food Programme said Friday.
で「北朝鮮との和平合意は、貧困にあえぐその国の慢性的な食料安全保障上の苦悩を和らげることに大きく貢献するだろう。と、国連の世界食糧計画（WPF）の事務局長が金曜日に話した。」という意味になります。

ＷＦＰ事務局長デービッド・ビーズリー氏が、4日間にわたる北朝鮮視察を終えて発表した談話です。

主語は、A peace agreement with North Korea で「北朝鮮との和平合意」です。
今度の米朝首脳会談での話し合いのことですね。
peace agreement で「和平合意」ですね。
peace accord などとも言います。

would go far toward ～ で「～に大変貢献するだろう」です。
go far toward ～ で「～に大いに役立つ」という意味の言い回しです。
go far は直訳すれば「遠くまで進む」ですが、「役立つ、成果が出る、成功する」という意味のイディオムになります。
例：go far in life「人生で成功する」、go far to improve the level of English「英語のレベルを上げるのに大いに役立つ」

何の役に立つのかというと、
easing the impoverished nation’s chronic food security woes で「その貧困国の慢性的な食糧安全保障上の苦悩を和らげること」に役立つという意ことです。
ease イーズは「～を緩和する、和らげる、緩める」という意味の動詞です。
the impoverished nation’s chronic food security woes までが一つの名詞句です。
impoverished イン・[パ]・ヴァ・リシュトゥは「貧困に陥った、貧しい」という意味の形容詞です。
impoverished nation なので「貧困に陥った国家」です。
例：impoverished family「貧しい家族」
chronic food security woes で「慢性的な食糧安全上の苦悩」となります。
food security「食糧安全保障」とはあまり聞いたことのない言葉ですが、
いざというときに食料供給を確保するための対策という意味だそうです。
