で「しかし、（キャンプに来て）初めてスーツケースから本を取り出したとき、部屋の中で一番イケてる子が私の方にやってきて尋ねました。”どうしてそんなに物静かにしているの？” と。mellow 確かに R-O-W-D-I-E とは正反対です。」という意味になります。

the first time (that) ～ で「初めて～した時」という意味の言い回しです。
took my book out of my suitcase で「スーツケースから本を取り出した」です。
take ～ out of … で「…から～を取り出す」です。

the coolest girl in the bunk で「部屋で一番いけている女の子」です。
coolest は cool「いけてる」の最上級です。
in the bunk の bunk は「寝台、二段ベッド、寮などの部屋」などという意味の名詞です。
元の意味は「飼い葉おけ」という、馬の飼い葉を入れておく「桶」のことです。
その形状から「二段ベッド」になって、さらに二段ベッドがあるような「小さな部屋、宿泊部屋」という意味になります。

came up to me で「私の方に来た」です。
come up to ～ で「～にやってくる、近づいてくる」という意味の言い回しです。

and she asked me, “Why are you being so mellow?” で「そして私に尋ねた、どうしてそんなに物静かにしているの？」です。
mellow は「落ち着いた、まろやかな、穏やかな、甘美な、熟した」という意味の形容詞です。
例：mellow music「気分が落ち着くような音楽、甘美な音楽」、feel mellow「ほんわかした気分である」

mellow, of course, being the exact opposite of R-O-W-D-I-E. で「mellow 確かに、R-O-W-D-I-E とは正反対です」です。
the exact opposite で「正反対のもの」となります。
exact は「正確な、厳格な、まさに」という意味です。
just opposite とも言えます。
opposite [ア]ポズィットゥは「反対の」です。
例：opposite color「反対色」、opposite lane「対向車線」

それではまず文節に分けて日本語に訳し内容を理解して下さい。
