I mean, for soccer, you could go to a soccer team. For violin, you could get lessons for a violin. But what if you want to make an app? And the kid’s parents might have done some of these things when they were young, but not many parents have written apps.

I mean, for soccer, you could go to a soccer team. For violin, you could get lessons for a violin. But what if you want to make an app? And the kid’s parents might have done some of these things when they were young, but not many parents have written apps.
で「つまり、もしサッカーだったら、サッカーチームに行けばいいのです。バイオリンだったらバイオリンのレッスンを受ければいいです。でも、アプリを作りたいとなったらどうすればいいでしょう？そして、その子供たちの親も、子供のころにサッカーやバイオリンだったらやったことがあるかもしれませんが、アプリを開発した親はそんなに多くはありません。」という意味になります。

I mean, ～ は話し言葉でよく使われる言い回しで「つまり、要するに、言いたいことは～」といった意味合いです。

for soccer, you could go to a soccer team で「サッカーなら、サッカーチームに行くことができるでしょう」です。
For violin, you could get lessons for a violin で「バイオリンだったらバイオリンのレッスンを受ければいいです」です。
get lessons for a violin で「バイオリンのレッスンを受ける」ですね。

But what if you want to make an app? で「でも、アプリを作りたいのならどうでしょう？」です。
what if ～ は慣用句で「もし～ならどうだろう？」という仮説を検証するときの言い回しです。
例：What if dinosaurs never went extinct?「もし恐竜が絶滅していなかったら？」

And the kid’s parents might have done some of these things when they were young, but ～ で「そしてその子たちの親も、子供のころにこれらのこといくつかはやったことがあるかもしれないが、～」です。
the kid’s parents で「その子たちの親」です。
might have done some of these things で「これらのことのいくつかはやったことがあるかもしれない」です。
these things は soccer や violin のことですね。

but not many parents have written apps. で「しかし、アプリを書いたことがある親は多くはない」です。
write apps で「アプリを書く」ですが、この場合は プログラムをする、code を書くという意味になります。
