で「いつになく珍しい長く涼しい今年の梅雨が、衣料品・家具・その他の商品への需要を減退させている。小売店の中にはすでに商品売り上げに大きく下落したと報告しているものもいる。」という意味になります。

The unusually long and cool rainy season が主語で「いつになく長く涼しい雨のこの季節」です。
the と付いているので「この、今年の」という意味合いです。
今年の7月は梅雨が長引いて夏らしくなかったのを覚えているでしょうか？

has dampened demand for apparel, furniture and other goods, で「～への需要を減退させている、アパレル、家具、その他の商品への」です。
dampen ダンプンは「～を湿らせる」という意味の動詞です。
発展して比ゆ的に「～の元気をなくさせる、減退させる」という意味でも使われます。
主語がrainy season なのでぴったりの動詞のチョイスです。
dampen demand for ～ なので「～への需要を減退させる」となります。
形容詞形は damp ダンプ「湿気のある、じめっとした」です。
例：damp air「湿った空気」

demand for ～ で「～を求める需要」です。
例：demand for electricity「電力需要」
demand for apparel, furniture and other goods なので「衣料品、家具、その他の商品への需要」となります。
apparel ア[パ]レォは日本語でも「アパレル業界」などの言葉でおなじみですが「衣料品、衣服」という意味の名詞です。

with some retailers already reporting ～ で「（そんな状況の中）一部の小売店はすでに～だと報告している」です。
with ～ …ing はニュース記事など頻出の言い回しです。
同時状況（付帯状況）を表して「（そんな中）～は…している」という意味になります。
retailer [リ]ー・テイ・ラーで「小売店」です。※アクセントに注意

何と報告しているかというと、
steep drops in merchandise sales. で「商品売り上げの急激な落ち込み」です。
steep drops in ～で「～における急激な落ち込み」という意味の慣用句です。
steep は「坂が急な、急こう配な」という意味の形容詞です。
例：steep cliff「絶壁」、steep hillside「急斜面」
in merchandise sales で「商品売上における」です。
merchandise は「商品、商品販売」という意味の名詞です。
例：merchandiser「販売店」、merchandising「商品の販売（方法）」
manufacture マニュファクチャー「商品製造、製造業」とセットで覚えておきましょう
