で「そしてこの変わった出来事とは、最近書いたこの本のことです。この回想録『食べて祈って恋をして』です。この本は私の今までどの本とも全く違っていて、どういうわけか各国語に翻訳され、この大きなメガヒット国際的ベストセラーというやつになったのです。」という意味になります。

the peculiar thing is that I recently wrote this book, で「この変わった出来事とは、私が最近この本を書いたことです」です。
is that ～ の that は that節で「～ということ」という意味になります。

this memoir called “Eat, Pray, Love” で「この『食べて祈って恋をして』という回想録」です。
memoir [メ]ムワーは「回想録、自伝、思い出」です。
フランス語からきた語で、日本語でもメモワールと言ったりしますね。

which, decidedly unlike any of my previous books, で「（その本は）今までの私のどの本とも決定的に違っていて」です。
unlike ～ で「～と異なって、～とは違い」という意味に前置詞です。
decidedly unlike ～ なので「～とは全く違って」という意味になります。
decidedly は「まったく、決定的に、明らかに」という意味の副詞です。
definitely, obviously, absolutely などの仲間です。
my previous books で「私が今まで出した本」です。
previous は「前の、以前の、今までの」という意味の形容詞です。

went out in the world for some reason で「どういうわけか、世界に出た」です。
go out in the world で「世界に出る、世界中に出回る」という意味になります。
この場合は国内のみならず、各国語に翻訳されるという意味になります。
for some reason は「ある理由で」という意味もありますが、
「何らかの理由で、どういうわけか、なぜかわからないけど」という理由がよくわからないときにも使われます。

and became this big, mega-sensation, international bestseller thing. で「そして、このビッグな話題を呼ぶ、国際的ベストセラーというものになった」です。
最後の thing は「～ってやつ」といった意味合いになります。
耳新しい名前などを引用して、主に「this ［that, the］ + 名詞 + thing」の形で使われます。
例：It’s a guy thing.「それが男ってやつです」、It’s a thing to do.「これが流行ってるんです。」

それではまず文節に分けて日本語に訳し内容を理解して下さい。
