放射線の研究でノーベル賞を２度受賞した科学者、マリ・キュリー氏（キュリー夫人）の言葉です。

You cannot hope to build a better world without improving the individuals. To that end, each of us must work for his own improvement and, at the same time, share a general responsibility for all humanity, our particular duty being to aid those to whom we think we can be most useful.

You cannot hope to build a better world without improving the individuals. To that end, each of us must work for his own improvement and, at the same time, share a general responsibility for all humanity, our particular duty being to aid those to whom we think we can be most useful.
で「個人を高めること無しに、より良い世界を築き上げる望みはありません。そのためには、私たち一人一人が自分自身の価値向上のために努力しなければならないし、また同時に、全人類のための全面的な責任と、自分がもっとも役に立てると思える人の助けになるという個別の義務をを共有しなければならない。」という意味になります。

You cannot hope to build a better world without ～ で「（人は）より良い世界を築くことは望めない、～なしに」です。
この場合の You は総称人称のyou で「人は」と訳します。
cannot hope to ～ で「～することは望めない、～する望みはない」です。

without improving the individuals で「個人を高めること無しに」です。
improve は「～を改善する、～の価値を高める」という意味の動詞です。
名詞形は improvement インプルーヴメントゥ「改善、価値向上」です。
例：improvement in productivity「生産性の向上」
the individuals で「個人たち」となります。
「全体」に対しての「（世の中の）一人一人、個人」という意味合いです。
例：relations between individuals「個々人の関係」、seminar for individuals「個人向けセミナー」

To that end, で「その目的のためには、その目的に向けて」という意味の言い回しです。
end はこの場合は「目的、目標」となります。
end のイメージは「（物事の）端っこ、先端、末端、行きつく先」です。

each of us must work for his own improvement で「私たち一人一人が、～のために努力しなければならない、自分自身の価値向上のために」です。
each of us で「私たち一人ひとり」です。
先ほどの the individuals と合致しますね。
work for ～ で「～のために頑張る」です。
work は「仕事をする」という意味以前に「頑張る、勤める、一生懸命取り組む」という意味があります。
(for) his own improvement で「自分自身の価値向上のために」です。
この his は、each of us「私たち一人ひとり」を受けての代名詞です。
このように性別が特定できない場合の代名詞に対して、
昔は男性形を使うのが通例でしたが、最近は his or her, や his/her などと表記することが多いです。

and, at the same time, で「また、同時に」です。

(must) share a general responsibility for all humanity, で「全人類のための全面的な責任を共有し（なければならない）」です。
動詞 share は、先ほどの must ～ に and でつながっています。
a general responsibility とは「全面的な責任、広い意味での責任」という意味合いです。
後述する particular「個別の、特有の、特定の」に対応して、general は「総体的な、大網の、全体的な」といった意味になります。

一方で、
our particular duty で「私たちの個別の義務」です。
general responsibility と対比させています。
particular は「個別の、特定の、固有の」という意味の形容詞です。
例：at a particular site in DNA「DNAの特定の領域で」、fit the particular need「個別の要望に合わせる」

私たち個別の義務とは、
being to aid those ～ で「～な人々の助けになる」（という義務）です。
aid ～ で「～を援助する、～を支援する」です。
those は、those (who ～) などと関係代名詞を伴って「～な人々」という意味になります。
those people と同じ意味です。

those to whom we think we can be most useful. で「～な人々、私たちが思う、私たちが（その人たちに）最も役に立てると」です。
those to whom ～ は、to を伴った目的格の関係代名詞です。
useful to ～ とつながっています。

それではまず文節に分けて日本語に訳し内容を理解して下さい。

より良い世界を築くことは

without improving the individuals.
個人の向上なしに
