で「年功序列型給与体系や終身雇用など、日本型の雇用の慣例を再検討することがこそが、緊急の課題である。急速に変化しているビジネス環境の中で日本の会社がグローバル競争で生き残ろうとしてる中で。」という意味になります。

Reviewing prevalent Japanese-style employment practices such as the seniority-based wage system and lifetime employment までが主語になります。
「日本型の雇用の慣例を再検討すること、年功序列型給与体系や終身雇用などの」です。
Reviewing ～ で「～を見直すこと」となります。
何を見直すかというと、
prevalent Japanese-style employment practices で「日本型の雇用の慣例」です。
prevalent は「広く行き渡った、普及した、一般化している」という意味の形容詞です。
例：prevalent view「一般的な見方」
employment practices で「雇用慣例、雇用の慣行」という意味です。
practice はこの場合は「慣例、慣行、いつものやり方」という意味になります。
例：business practices「ビジネス慣行」
such as ～「～などの」です。
like ～ とも言えます。
the seniority-based wage system で「年功ベースの賃金体系」です。
seniority-based で「年功序列の」となります。
age-indexed とも言えます。
wage system で「賃金体系」となります。
lifetime employment は「終身雇用」ですね。

is indeed a pressing challenge で「～が実に緊急の課題だ」となります。
indeed は「実に、本当に、まったく」という意味の強調の副詞。
pressing challenge で「緊急の課題、差し迫った課題」です。
pressing はこの場合「急を要する、差し迫った」という意味の形容詞になります。
例：pressing task「今すぐやらないといけない仕事」

as ～ で「～の中」という意味の接続詞です。

(as) Japanese firms seek to survive global competition で「日本の会社が～しようとしてる（中で）、グローバル競争を生き延びようと」です。
seek to ～ で「～しようとする、～しようと模索する」です。
try to ～ とも言えます。
survive ～ で「～を生き延びる、～を乗り切る」です。

in a rapidly changing business environment. で「急速に変化するビジネス環境の中」です。
rapidly は「急速に、目まぐるしく」という意味の副詞です。
