Japan Timesより。2025年に大阪市で開催予定の国際博覧会に関する記事から引用させていただきました。
In November 2018, however, Osaka won the rights to host the World Expo a second time. The Osaka-Kansai Expo takes place in 2025, on the man-made Osaka Bay island of Yumeshima under the theme of “Designing Future Society for Our Lives.”

In November 2018, however, Osaka won the rights to host the World Expo a second time. The Osaka-Kansai Expo takes place in 2025, on the man-made Osaka Bay island of Yumeshima under the theme of “Designing Future Society for Our Lives.”
で「しかしながら、2018年11月、大阪は2度目となる万国博覧会を主催する権利を獲得した。大阪・関西万博は、大阪湾の人工島、夢洲（ゆめしま）で、『いのち輝く未来社会のデザイン』というテーマのもと、2025年に開催される。」という意味になります。
In November 2018, however, で「2018年11月、しかしながら、～」です。
however はこのように、文頭ではなく文の途中にカンマ（,）区切りで挿入されることが多いですね。
Osaka won the rights to host the World Expo a second time. で「大阪は権利を勝ち取った、万博を主催する権利を、２度目で」です。
win the right to ～ で「～する権利を得る」となります。
right は「右、正しい、直角の」などいろいろな意味がある単語ですがこの場合は「権利」という意味です。
host ～ で「～を主催する、～の開催地となる」です。
host はもともと「パーティーなどで主人役を務める」です。
主人役とは「客をもてなす人」です。
例：host a conference「会議を主催する」
a second time で「二度目に、二回目となる」です。
1970年に最初の大阪万博が開かれているから、今回は２回目ということです。
The Osaka-Kansai Expo takes place in 2025, で「大阪・関西万博は開催される、2025年に」です。
take place は「～が開催される」という意味の句動詞です。主語は「人」ではなく「催し物」になります。
on the man-made Osaka Bay island of Yumeshima で「大阪湾の人工の島、夢洲（ゆめしま）で」です。
man-made は「人が作った、人工の、人造の」です。
artificial island「人工島」とも言えます。
Osaka Bay は「大阪湾」です。
bay ベイは「湾、入り江、湾岸」です。
under the theme of “Designing Future Society for Our Lives.” で「～というテーマのもとで、『いのち輝く未来社会のデザイン』という」です。
theme は「テーマ」という意味ですが、発音はスィームという感じになるので注意しましょう。
Designing Future Society for Our Lives は、私たちの命のための未来の社会をデザインする、です。
それではまず文節に分けて日本語に訳し内容を理解して下さい。
