Today, I picked my son up from school, and asked how his day went. He told me how his friend explained to him that his mommy snorts sugar with his uncle, and if he could try what his friend’s mom calls “Booger sugar” when we got home. FML
で「今日、車で息子を学校に迎えに行って、今日はどうだった？と聞いてみた。息子は言うには、友達の母親とおじさんが一緒に砂糖を鼻から吸っていることをその友達が詳細に説明してくれたらしい。そして家に帰ったら、その友達の母親が『ブガーシュガー』といつも呼んでいるやつを自分もやってみてもいいかと聞いてきた。F*ck my life!」という意味になります。

I picked my son up from school, で「私は息子を学校から車で拾った」です。
pick ～ up は「迎えに行って車に乗せる」という意味の慣用句です。
例：Can you pick me up at the airport?「車で空港まで迎えに来てもらえますか？」

and asked how his day went. で「そして尋ねた、彼の一日はどうだったかを」です。
how one’s day went で「一日がどうだったか、どんな一日だったか」です。
例：How did your day go?「今日はどうだった？」

He told me how ～ で「彼は私に教えてくれた、～がどんなだったかを」

how his friend explained to him that ～ で「彼の友達が、息子に、どのように説明したかと、～ということを」です。

息子の友達はどんなことを息子に説明したかというと、
(that) his mommy snorts sugar with his uncle, で「彼の母親が砂糖を鼻から吸っていること、彼のおじさんと一緒に」です。
snort sugar で「砂糖を鼻から吸う」となります。
snort は「鼻を鳴らす、フンという」という意味で、そこから「（麻薬などを）鼻から摂取する」という意味になります。
例：give a snort「ふんと鼻を鳴らす」
sugar はもちろん「白い粉」→「ヘロインorコカイン」のことです。
子供には砂糖だと説明しているんですね。

and if he could try ～ で「そして～を試してもいいか（と息子は尋ねた）」です。
and (asked) if ～ と asked が省略されていると考えます。

何を試してみたいのかというと、
what his friend’s mom calls “Booger sugar” で「彼の友達の母親がブガーシュガーと呼んでいたもの」です。
booger は「鼻くそ」という意味です。鼻くそは snot とも言いますね。
booger sugar は隠語で「コカイン」という意味だそうです。
