スイスの画家、美術理論家であるパウル・クレーの言葉です。

Children also have artistic ability, and there is wisdom in their having it! The more helpless they are, the more instructive are the examples they furnish us; and they must be preserved free of corruption from an early age.

で「子供たちにも芸術的能力があります。そして子供たちが芸術能力を持つという点に有益な金言があります。自分では何もできない無力な子供であればあるほど、彼らが示してくれるその教えは我々のためになります。そして幼い頃から、それらは汚損から守られなければなりません。」という意味になります。

Children also have artistic ability, で「子供たちもまた芸術的能力を持つ」です。

and「そして」
there is wisdom in their having it! で「英知がある、彼らがそれを持っていることに」です。
ちょっとわかりづらいですが、
having it「それを持っていること」の意味上の主語 their が挿入されている形です。

動名詞の意味上の主語、目的格はダメ！？英語学習中なら知っておこう

their は the children を指します。
there is wisdom in ～ing はイディオム的に「～する中にも教えがある、～することにもいい点がある」といった意味になります。
つまり、子どもたちが芸術的能力を有していることに、よい教えが隠れている、ということです。

The more ～, the more … の文型で「～すればするほど、より…だ」です。
The more helpless they are, で「彼らが無力であればあるほど…」です。
they は同様に the children を指します。
helpless は「どうしようもない、頼りない、一人では何もできない、体が不自由な、無力な」という意味の形容詞です。
例：as helpless as a new-born babe「生まれたての赤子ほど無力な、どうすることもできない」、play helpless「頼りないふりをする」

the more instructive are the examples they furnish us; で「その教えはより教示的になる、彼らが私たちに与える（教え）」です。
the more の文型に引っ張られて、倒置が起きています。
主語は the examples they furnish us で「彼らが我々に与える教え」です。
述部が are instructive です。
the examples (that) they furnish us で「彼らが我々に与えるその教え」です。
they は先ほど同様 the children です。
the examples「その教え」は、先ほど wisdom があると言っていたことを受けています。
furnish ～ (with) … で「～に…を与える」という意味の言い回しになります。
例：furnish someone with advice「人に助言を与える」
つまり美術理論家であるパウル・クレーたちにとって有益な教えになっているということですね。

they must be preserved free of corruption で「それらは守られねばならない、汚されずに」です。
この they は the children とみることもできますが、the examples とも取れます。
free of corruption は形容詞ですが、(, being) が省略されていると考えて「汚損されていない（状態で）」という意味になります。
前回も出てきた、形容詞の副詞的な用法（準補語）とも取れます。
例：They all arrived safe.「彼らは全員無事に到着した。」

それではまず文節に分けて日本語に訳し内容を理解して下さい。
