スティーヴ・ジョブズ「1995～失われたインタビュー～」です。

And you know, before they invented these things, all these people would have done other things. But computers were invented, and they did come along, and all these people did get interested in school or before school, and said, Hey, this is the medium that I think I can say something in, you know?

And you know, before they invented these things, all these people would have done other things. But computers were invented, and they did come along, and all these people did get interested in school or before school, and said, Hey, this is the medium that I think I can say something in, you know?（動画内 14:20～）
で「つまり、コンピューターが発明される以前（だったら）、有能な彼らはみんな何か別のことをしていたでしょう。でもコンピューターが発明され、それがまさに現実となって、彼らはみんな学生時代やそれ以前に、すごく興味を持った。そして『このメディアでなら何か自分でも表現できるんじゃないか』と思ったんです。」という意味になります。

before they invented these things で「これらのものが発明される以前だったら」です。
(if it had been) before they invented these things と仮定法の意味になっていて、
カッコ部分が省略されていると考えるとしっくりきます。
少し前にでてきた、if it hadn’t been for computer science, ～「もしコンピューターサイエンスが当時なかったら」 の流れを受けての省略ですね。
they invented these things の they は総称人称／仮主語の they で「世の中の人々、誰かが」という意味合いで、特に具体的な誰かを指しているわけではありません。
例：They say she will move.「彼女は引っ越しするらしい。」

つまり、受動態にして before these things were invented と同じ意味です。
these things はここでは computers またインターネットなどを指しています。

all these people would have done other things. で「これらの人々はみんな他のことをやっていたでしょう」です。
all these people はジョブズと一緒に働いていた優秀な技術者たちのことです。
if it had ～「もし～だったら」を受けて、would have ～「～していただろう」の形になっています。

But computers were invented, で「でもコンピューターは発明された」
and they did come along, で「そしてコンピューターは実際に現実となった」です。
この they が指すのは computers です。
come along で「現れる、やって来る、現実となる」という意味のイディオムです。
例：A chance like this doesn’t come along too often.「こんなチャンスはそうそうない。」
did come along と強調して「実際に、本当に（現実となった）」という意味になっています。

and「そして」
all these people did get interested in school or before school で「これらの人々はみんな、強く興味を持った、学生時代やそれ以前に」です。
did get interested (in computers) で「（コンピューターに）強く興味を持った」です。
get interested in ～ で「～に興味を持つ」です。
先ほどと同じく did get ～ と強調表現が使われています。

and said, で「そしてこう言った」

ここは直接話法のセリフ部分で、
Hey, this is the medium that I think I can say something in で「おい、これは～なメディアだ、自分でも何かを表現できる」です。
つまり一介の学生でも、世の中に何かを発信することができるすごい媒体だ、ということです。
say something で「何かを言う、何かを表現する」という意味になります。
最後の in は、 in (the medium) 「そのメディアの中で（なら）」にかかっています。

それではまず文節に分けて日本語に訳し内容を理解して下さい。

つまり

これらのものが発明される以前だったら

all these people
これらの人々はみんな

would have done other things.
別のことをやっていたでしょう

But computers were invented,
でもコンピューターは発明され

and they did come along,
現実のものとなった

and all these people
そしてこれらの人々はみんな

学生時代やそれ以前に

今度は「頭の中で」一行ずつ日本語に訳しながら…
