Faith is an excitement and an enthusiasm: it is a condition of intellectual magnificence to which we must cling as to a treasure, and not squander on our way through life in the small coin of empty words, or in exact and priggish argument.

Faith is an excitement and an enthusiasm: it is a condition of intellectual magnificence to which we must cling as to a treasure, and not squander on our way through life in the small coin of empty words, or in exact and priggish argument.
で「信じることは興奮と熱狂だ。つまりそれは知的な壮麗さという状態である。財宝にしがみつくように、我々はそれに対してしがみつかずにはいられない。そして長い人生の中で空虚な言葉という小銭として、または厳密で堅苦しい議論のという形で浪費してしまってはいけないものなのである。」という意味になります。

Faith is an excitement and an enthusiasm: で「信じることは興奮と熱狂だ」です。
faith は「信仰、信頼、信念」という意味の名詞です。
コアイメージは「（前向きに何かを心から）信じること」です。
宗教的な意味もありますし、それ以外にも全般的に「（深く）信じること」という意味です。

コロン（:）で「つまり～」

it is a condition of intellectual magnificence で「それは、知的な壮麗さという状態である」です.
it は faith を指して、a condition of ～ で「～という状態」です。
intellectual magnificence で「知的な壮麗さ」です。
形容詞形は magnificent「壮麗な、堂々とした、高貴な、立派な」という意味。

to which ～ は前置詞 to を伴った関係代名詞で、
(to which) we must cling で「（それに対して）私たちがしがみつかずにはいられない」です。
cling to ～ で「～にしがみつく、～に固執する」という意味のコロケーションです。
例：starfish clinging to a rock「岩にくっ付いて離れないヒトデ」
ここでの must は「～せざるを得ない、～しないではいられない」という意味になっています。

as to ～ は「～については、～に関しては」という用法もありますが、今回はそうではなく。
as to a treasure を分解すると、
as ～「～のように」、(cling) to a treasure で「財宝に（しがみつく）」です。
つまり、財宝にしがみつくのと同じように、という意味になっています。

and ～「また～」
not squander on our way through life で「人生の道のりに浪費してはいけない」です。
(must) not squander ～ と繋がって、must not squander ～ on … で「～を…に浪費してはいけない」です。
～の部分には which の関係代名詞がつながって、a condition of intellectual magnificence が入る形になっています。

in the small coin of empty words は「空虚な言葉という小銭という形で」という意味です。
この in は「（支払方法が）～という形で」という意味の in です。
例：buy ～ in cash「～を現金で買う」、pay in gold「金貨で支払う」、buy ～ in a lump sum「～を一括払い購入する」
the small coin of empty words は「空虚な言葉という小銭」です。
of は「～という」という意味の同格のofになります。

or「または」
in exact and priggish argument. で「厳密で堅苦しい議論という形で」です。
exact はいい意味で「正確な」ですが、ここではちょっとネガティブな意味で「規則などが厳しい」という感じですね。
priggish プリギシュは「堅苦しい、学者ぶった、口やかましい」という意味の形容詞です。
前半の magnificence「壮大、壮麗」と比較されています。

それではまず文節に分けて日本語に訳し内容を理解して下さい。

Faith is an excitement and an enthusiasm:
信じることは、興奮と熱狂である

it is a condition of intellectual magnificence
それは知的な壮麗さという状態である

to which
（それに対して）

we must cling
我々はしがみつかずにはいられない

as to a treasure,
財宝に対してそうであるのと同じように
