で「火事のためにできた鉛の除去作業や、文書化・復旧テストなどの、何カ月にもわたる準備作業の末に、修復作業者たちは今やっと繊細で根気を要する洗浄や修復のプロセスに入り始めたところだ。」という意味になります。

After months of preparatory work で「何カ月にもわたる準備作業の末に」です。
months of ～ で「何カ月もの～」という意味になります。
例：years of alcohol and drug abuse「長年にわたる飲酒と薬物乱用」
preparatory プリ[パ]ラトリで「準備の、前置きの」という意味の形容詞になります。
例：preparatory course「予科」、preparatory stages「準備段階」

including ～ で「～などの、～などを含む」という意味の前置詞。
直前の preparatory work の具体例を表示します。
such as ～ とも言い換えられます。
decontamination against lead due to fire, で「鉛の除染、火事のためにできた（鉛の）」です。
decontamination で「除染」です。
de-（離れて）＋ contamination「汚染」
against ～ は「～に対して、～に対抗して」という意味の前置詞。
lead はここではリードゥではなくレドゥと発音して「鉛」という意味になります。

その数カ月もの準備段階の後で、
the restorers are only now starting ～ で「修復作業者たちは、今やっと～を始めつつある」です。
restore で「復旧する、修復する」です。それに -er がついて restorer「修復作業者」です。
ここでの only は「やっと、ようやく」という意味の副詞。
例：only recently「ここ最近やっと」、only this week「今週に入ってやっと」
何を始めつつあるかというと、
the delicate and arduous cleaning and restoration process. で「デリケートで根気のいる洗浄や修復のプロセス」です。
delicate 発音はデリケートではなく[デ]リキトゥとなり「繊細な、細やかな、壊れやすい」という意味の形容詞です。
arduous [ア]ージュァスで「多大な努力を要する、達成が困難な、つらい」という意味の形容詞です。
例：arduous negotiation「困難な交渉」、arduous duties「骨の折れる任務」
