本日の例文

TED-Edより「Can you solve the prisoner hat riddle?（囚人の帽子クイズに挑戦）」です。

Each begins by expecting to see an odd or even number of hats of the specified color. If what they count doesn’t match, that means their own hat is that color. And everytime this happens, the next person in line will switch the parity they expect to see.

Each begins by expecting to see an odd or even number of hats of the specified color. If what they count doesn’t match, that means their own hat is that color. And everytime this happens, the next person in line will switch the parity they expect to see.
で「各人は、まず、最初に指定された色の帽子が奇数個（もしくは偶数個）あるだろうと予想します。もし自分の数えた数がそれと合わなければ、それは自分の帽子がその色だということを意味します。またこれが起こる時は毎回、列の次の人は期待する偶奇性を切り替えていきます。」という意味になります。

Each begins by expecting ～ で「それぞれの囚人たちは、～することから始める」です。
begin by ～ ing で「～することから始める、まずは～をする」という意味の言い回しです。
何から始めるのかというと、
expecting to see ～ で「～を見ることを期待する」です。
expect to do ～ で「～することを期待する、～するつもりである、～するだろうと思う」です。
何を見るだろうと思うのかというと、
an odd or even number of hats of the specified color. で「奇数個（または偶数個）の、最初に指定された色の帽子」です。
the specified color「指定された色」は、前述のシミュレーションでは「黒」でした。
黒い帽子の数が奇数なら「黒」と言い偶数ならば「白」と言う、というくだりで述べられています。

If what they count doesn’t match, で「もし彼らが数えたものと合わなければ」です。
they は最初の each「それぞれの囚人たち」のことです。
what they count が主語で「彼らが数えたもの」です。実際に、自分の前にある黒い帽子をカウントした合計数です。
その合計数の偶奇性（parity）が、後ろの人が知らせてきた偶奇性と合わなければ、ということです。
もしそうなら、
that means their own hat is that color. で「それは～を意味する、自分自身の帽子がその色であることを」です。
that means (that) ～ で「それは～ということを意味する」

And ～「また」
everytime this happens, で「これが起こる時は毎回」です。
everytime ～ が接続詞的に使われています。
the next person in line で「列の次の人は」
will switch the parity で「偶奇性を切り替えることになる」
(the parity) they expect to see. で「その人が見るだろうと予想される（偶奇性を）」です。

それではまず文節に分けて日本語に訳し内容を理解して下さい。
