で「広い場所に集まって花火ショーを楽しむ他の花火大会とは違って、隅田川花火大会は東京の近くの通りや橋をそぞろ歩きながら鑑賞される。そうでないと高いビルに見晴らしを遮られてしまし、人々が集まれる広大な場所がほとんどないからだ。」という意味になります。

Unlike other fireworks festivals, で「他の花火大会とは違って、」という意味になります。
unlike ～ で「～とは違って、～とは異なり」という意味の前置詞。
like ～「～のように」の反対の意味ですね。
, where people gather in open spaces to enjoy the spectacle, カンマで区切られたこの部分は付加的に直前の other fireworks festivals を説明しています。
「人々がオープンスペースに集って花火を楽しむ（他の花火大会）」です。
open space は「開けた場所、空き地」です。
the spectacle は「その壮観、その壮大なショー」です。花火のことですね。
そのような他の花火大会とは違って、
the Sumida festival is watched で「隅田川花火大会は、観られる」です。
(watched) while people stroll Tokyo’s nearby streets and bridges, で「人々が東京の近隣の通りや橋を散歩しながら（観られる）」です。
while ～ で「～しながら、～する間に」という意味の接続詞です。
stroll ～ で「～をそぞろ歩く、散策する」です。

as the view is otherwise obstructed by ～ で「そうでないと視界を～によって遮られてしまうから」です。
as ～ はここでは【理由】の意味で「～なので、～だから」です。
otherwise は「そうじゃないと、でないと」という意味の副詞です。
obstructed by tall buildings で「高いビル群によって遮られる」です。
and ～「また～」
there are few spacious areas で「広い地域がほとんどない」です。
few は a がつかない場合は否定的な意味あいで「ほとんど～ない」という意味になります。
for people to assemble. で「人々が集まるため（広大な場所）」です。
assemble アセンボォは「集まる、集合する」です。先ほどの gather と同義語（synonym）になります。
