What is more, I cannot criticise my parents for hoping that I would never experience poverty. They had been poor themselves, and I have since been poor, and I quite agree with them that it is not an ennobling experience.

で「さらには、私が貧乏を経験しないように願ったことで両親を批判することはできません。両親たちもそれまではずっと貧乏でしたし、私もその後で貧乏を経験しました。そして貧乏というものが人を高めてくれるような経験ではないという両親の考えに私も全く同感です。」という意味になります。

What is more, ～「さらに～、その上～」
I cannot criticise my parents for ～ で「私は両親を批判できない、～について」です。
criticize ～ for … で「…について～を批判する」です。
ここでの for は「～の罪で、～のかどで」という意味の前置詞です。
何のことで批判できないのかというと、
(for) hoping that ～ で「（両親たちが）～ということを願った（ことで）」です。
(that) I would never experience poverty. で「私が貧乏を経験しないよう（に願った）」です。

They had been poor themselves, で「両親は、彼ら自身もそれまで貧乏だった」です。
had been ～ と過去完了形（大過去）で「その時よりも前」を表しています。
and ～「そして～」
I have since been poor, で「私もそのあと貧乏になった」です。
J・K・ローリングさんもハリーポッターがヒットする前はシングルマザーとしてかなりの貧乏を経験したようです。
昨日も登場しましたが、have since ～ で「それ以来～した、その後～した」という意味のの用法です。

, and ～「ですので～」
I quite agree with them that ～ で「私は～という点で、両親に全く同感です」
agree with ～ で「～に同感である、～の意見に賛成である」という意味。
そして、agree that ～ で「～ということに賛成である」です。
(that) it is not an ennobling experience. で「貧乏は人を高めてくれるような経験ではない（ということ）」です。
it は poverty を指しています。
ennobling の動詞形 ennoble イ[ノ]ウブォは「人格・品性を高める、気高くする」という意味の動詞です。
形容詞形は noble [ノ]ウボォ「高貴な、高潔な、立派な」です。

それではまず文節に分けて日本語に訳し内容を理解して下さい。

私は両親を非難できません

for hoping that
～ということ願ったことについて

I would never experience poverty.
私が貧乏を経験しないよう（に願った）

They had been poor themselves,
両親たちもそれまで貧乏でした
