Today, I found out the real reason my dad bought a new car and generously gave me his old one. He knew the engine was about to fail and didn’t want it to be his problem when it finally did. It blew out while I was driving at high speed on the motorway. Just my luck. FML
で「今日、父が新しい車を買って、今まで乗っていた古い車を気前よく私にくれた理由が分かった。その古い車のエンジンが故障しかかっているのを知っていて、最後に故障したときに自分の問題になるの嫌だったのだ。私が高速道路でスピードを出していた時、そのエンジンはブローした。案の定だ。F*ck my life!」という意味になります。

I found out ～ で「～が分かった、～が判明した」という意味の言い回し。
the real reason (that) ～ で「～した本当の理由」です。
なんの理由かというと、
my dad bought a new car で「父が新しい車を買った（理由）」
and ～「そして～」
generously gave me his old one. で「気前よく、彼の古い車を私にくれた（理由）」です。
generously [ジェ]ネラスリで「気前よく、寛大に」という意味の副詞です。
名詞形は generosity ジェネ[ラ]スィティ「寛大さ」

He knew (that) ～「父は～だと分かっていた」
(that) the engine was about to fail で「そのエンジンが、故障しかかっていた（ことを）」
fail は「失敗する」という意味でおなじみですがここでは機械などが「機能しなくなる、故障する」という意味です。
例：replace failed components「故障した部品を交換する」
and ～「そして～」
didn’t want it to be his problem で「それが自分の問題になって欲しくなかった」です。
when it finally did. で「それが最終的に故障したときに」です。
it は the engine を、did は failed「故障した」を指しています。

It blew out で「エンジンはブローした」です。
blow out は「エンジンがブローする、（ヒューズなどが飛んで）動かなくなる、壊れる」です。
while I was driving at high speed on the motorway. で「私が運転しているときに、スピードを出して、高速道路で」です。
motorway「高速道路」はイギリスでの言い方で、アメリカでは freeway, expressway とも言います。

Just my luck. は反語的に「ついてないな、案の定だ」という意味になります。
