で「ゆっくり重い足取りで、曙は土俵の中心へと進んだ。（その前に）神々へ報せるため手を鳴らして、邪気を祓うため四股も踏んでいた。いくつか手際の良いポーズを取って自分が武器を持っていないことも示し終えていた。まさに準備万端である。」という意味になります。

Lumberingly, で「ゆっくりと重い足取りで」です。
lumber は「木材、材木」、動詞では「材木を切り出す」という意味。
lumbering で「材木伐採業」から、「動きの悪い、なかなか前に進まない、鈍い、不格好な」という意味になります。
例：lumbering cart「がたがた音を立てて動く荷車」、lumbering bureaucracy「対応が遅いお役所仕事」
Akebono paced to the centre of the ring. で「曙はゆっくりと進む、土俵の中央へと」です。
pace to ～ で「～にゆっくりと歩く」という意味のコロケーション。

He had clapped his hands で「彼は手を叩いていた」です。
had clapped と過去完了形になっているので、土俵へ進む前に「すでに～も済ませていた」という意味になります。
最後の「準備万端だった」につながっていきます。
clap one’s hands で「手を叩く」です。
to alert the gods, で「神々へ報せるために」です。
the gods は「（多神教の）神々」です。日本ですので「八百万（やおよろず）の神々」ということですね。
ユダヤ・キリスト・イスラムの一神教では神は唯一の存在なので God または the God と複数形になることはあり得ません。
, stamped his feet to scare off evil spirits, で「足を踏み鳴らして邪気を払った」です。

塵手水（ちりちょうず）のことですね。
何を示したのかというと、
(that) he had no weapons. で「自分が武器を持っていないことを」です。

He was more than ready. で「彼は準備万端だった」です。
He was ready に more than を付けて強調した形です。
