で「私たちはキャラクターを生み出し、平面の枠を超えて奥行きを持たせながら命を吹き込んできた。そしてそれらのキャラクターたちを通して、不安定なこの世界に対して、私たちが共通して持っているものの方が、私たちを隔てているものよりも、はるかに多く、そしてはるかに重要なのだということを示してきたのです。」という意味になります。

We have created characters で「私たちはキャラクターを創り出してきた」です。
and ～「そして～」
animated them で「それらに（命を吹き込んで）アニメにして動かしてきた」です。
animate はもともとは「～に命を吹き込む」という意味でそこから派生して「生き生きとさせる」「活発に動かす」「～をアニメーションで動かす」という意味になった言葉です。
in the dimension of depth, で「奥行きの次元において」です。
dimension は「（幅・奥行き・高さの）寸法」という意味から「次元」という意味です。
ここでは depth 奥行きの次元（3次元）です。
まだ3Dのアニメ技法が生まれる前でしょうから、ここでは「平面の枠を超えて、奥行きを持たせて、キャラクターに“内面の深さ”を持たせて」といった意味合いと推測できます。

分詞構文で繋いで
, revealing ～ で「～を明らかにしながら」です。
先に through them「それらを通して」
to our perturbed world「混乱した世界に向かって」と副詞句が入り、
目的語（that ～）が後置されています。
through them の them は characters を指しています。
perturbed は「不安にあふれた、心が乱された」という意味の形容詞。
例：wear a perturbed look on one’s face「不安そうな表情をしている」
目的語の that節に入り、
(that) the things we have in common で「我々が共通して持っているもの、我々の共通点」です。
far outnumber and outweigh ～ で「はるかに～を数で上回り、重要性においても上回っている（ということ）」です。
outnumber ～ で「～を数で上回る、～よりも多い」という意味の動詞。
outweigh ～ で「～を重さで上回る、～より重い、重要である」という意味の動詞です。
何を上回るのかというと、
those that divide us. で「私たちを分け隔てるもの」です。

それではまず文節に分けて日本語に訳し内容を理解して下さい。
