で「最初は、私はヤブ医者・ペテン師と呼ばれて、それは年々ひどくなった。オーストラリアやイギリスやアメリカで。オーストラリアの奥地からやってきた看護婦が、自分たちが今まで出来なかった治療法を考案したことを信じたくない男たちが私をそう呼んだのだ。」という意味になります。

I was called a quack, a charlatan, で「ヤブ医者・ペテン師と呼ばれた」となります。
quack は「アヒルがガーガー鳴く」という意味から「ヤブ医者、大ぼら吹き」という意味でつかわれます。
例；quack doctor「偽医者」、quack medicine「いんちき薬」
charlatan も同じく「いかさま師、ペテン師・ヤブ医者」という意味の名詞です。
いんちき薬のことを snake oil「蛇の油」と言ったりしますが、
charlatan も snake oil を売り歩くペテン師というイメージです。

and worse, year after year, で「年々、ひどくなった、年を追うごとにひどくなる」です。
quack や charlatan と悪口を言われるのが年々ひどくなったということです。

by men who ～ で「～な男たちに」です。
be called by men who ～ です。

どんな男たちかというと、
men who simply refused to believe that ～ で「～ということを単に信じたがらない男たち」です。
refused to believe で「信じることを拒む、信じようとしない」です。

何を信じたくないのかというと、
that a nurse from ‘the bush’ could devise a treatment which succeeded where they had failed で「オーストラリアの奥地からきた一人の看護婦が、自分たちがずっとうまくいかなかった治療法を考案したこと」です。
a nurse from ‘the bush’ で「オーストラリアの奥地から来た看護婦」です。
bush は「ヤブ、茂み」などという意味の名詞ですが、今回のようにオーストラリアの奥地、田舎のことをこう呼びます。
bush baby という小さなサルがいますね。
could devise a treatment which succeeded where they had failed で「彼らがずっと失敗していたところに、うまくいく治療法を考え出した」です。
devise a treatment で「治療法を考案する」です。
devise は「考案する、考え出す」という意味の動詞です。
例：devise a simple method「簡単な方法を考え出す」
a treatment which succeeded で「成功した治療法、うまくいく治療法」です。

それではまず文節に分けて日本語に訳し内容を理解して下さい。
